My name is Val Heisey. Dogs are a big part of my life, whether they are mine, or just borrowed for a couple of hours while I groom them. My family has had dogs and a few cats all my life until recently, when our beloved Isabelle, a beautiful English Springer Spaniel, lost her battle with seizures and a brain tumor.

Knowing we would be moving to Southwest Florida, we decided to wait to get another dog. Missing the love of pets and having the background of professional grooming led me to open my mobile grooming business, Pet Club Pro.

In the 80's, while I had small children at home, I decided to become a certified, professional dog groomer. I graduated from Baltimore School of Dog Grooming, and opened my own grooming salon in my home.

When the kids started school, my business had grown to the point where I needed to move it into a shop or change my career path. I decided to go back to school to get my AA and BFA degrees in art and design, and my certification in Interior Design. I was a graphic design instructor at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design for nearly 10 years, prior to moving to Florida in 2008. So, as an artist, design plays an enormous part in the outcome of everything I do including grooming dogs.

I opened my mobile grooming business because I saw a need in this area for a more personalized service that focuses on comfort and convenience for both customer and client. Convenience for those who don't like to transport their pets or are too busy to schedule grooming appointments. Comfort for your overly anxious pets because there are no cages, no other barking dogs, and no assembly-line grooming in the mobile grooming salon.

Working with the dogs and cats gives me the opportunity to explore my artistic side with photography, drawing and painting. I have so many resources to hone my skills and create wonderful images of some of my favorite subjects.

With mobile grooming, if you're home or at the office for a couple of hours, the job gets done while you go about your normal activities.
